IMPERIAL
West Coast pressings have black labels with silver print and the more elaborate label style which states "recorded in Hollywood". Scranton-pressed examples are credited to NOVELTY RECORD
COMPANY and have plain black labels with a greenish-gold print
similar to that used on wartime Hit Records with numbers 5X, a 100-118 series and album 500 (rose red label) with sides labeled A/B , C/D and E/F. No relation to the red R&B label. Almost all known issues are 1940's releases
of Ray BOURBON material in albums. Perhaps coincidentally, Eli Oberstein's Elite label was briefly produced by a company called Imperial and released an 'X' series (non-party).
