Old King Cole

1 Now, (this) old King Cole was a merry old soul
And a merry merry / old soul was he.
He called for his pipe in the middle of the night
And he called for his coalmen three.
Now, every fine coalman had a very fine bag
And a very fine bag had he.

Chorus:

"Have a bag of rump, bag of rump," says the coalman.

Merry, merry lads are we.

(Now,) there's none so rare or can compare

With the boys of the company.

2    fiddlers / fiddle

"Tweek tiddle deek in the middle," says the fiddler.

3    painters / brush

"Slap it up and down, up and down," says the painter.

4    tailors / needle

"Shove it in and out, in and out," says the tailor.

5   jugglers / ball

"Throw your ball in the air, in the air," says the juggler.
