Subject: RE: A Folk Music Time Machine From: JHW Date: 26 Sep 17 - 11:28 AM Would have to be when I first started going to FCs and we seemed to enjoy ourselves more. When I left school and got a job, you could do that then. Perhaps the singing was less polished but we were unaware. Sat on wooden beer crates bawling our heads off and supping handpulled ale. There was only real ale, processed had not been invented. They might well ask you at the door if you were a singer and if so would get free beer! And if you couldn't sing you didn't. Drinking and driving obligatory then but I'm conveniently forgetting the smoke. Before the time I knew might have been interesting. |
