Subject: BS: Jaywick: UKIP meets the apocalypse From: Jack Campin Date: 13 Jan 17 - 12:01 PM The most deprived area in England, which also happens to be the area of heaviest support for UKIP, gets the worst of the coastal storm surge. As I'm writing this 1500 homes have been flooded in Jaywick. What Jaywick is like: Guardian article, June 2016 New Statesman, February 2016 And is the post-Brexit English polity going to rush to their aid? What's that strange flapping and oinking I hear in the sky? |

Subject: RE: BS: Jaywick: UKIP meets the apocalypse From: Stanron Date: 14 Jan 17 - 06:03 AM The really bad floods we've had in the past have occurred with this type of high tide in conjunction with a severe low pressure weather system. Fortunately we have a high pressure weather system at the moment and the difference in sea height can be a couple of meters. Still, better safe than sorry. |
