It's been almost 20 years since I've heard these amazing musicians and I'm glad to say they're still doing great. Great artists, not much appreciation on here for them. I agree with you, Voyager -- let's give them some more appreciation! Probably don't get quite as much recognition because they don't have a whole lot on YouTube |

Subject: RE: Robin & Linda Williams - An Appreciation From: GUEST,Jerome Clark Date: 10 Sep 16 - 09:14 PM Dakota Dave Hull and I met Robin Williams when he was playing at a college coffeehouse in Moorhead, Minnesota, in, I believe, early 1970. Later in the decade, when I was living near Chicago, Robin and I (and later Linda) started writing songs together, starting with "Don't Let Me Come Home a Stranger," which ended up getting covered by a bunch of artists, American and British, over the decades. Songs we wrote together over the next 20 or so years were covered by Emmylou Harris, the Albion Band, Tim O'Brien, Mollie O'Brien, Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Seldom Scene, Tom T. Hall, and others who don't come to mind off the top of my head. Our "Famous in Missouri" is featured in last year's well-reviewed independent film "Mississippi Grind." My personal favorites are "Green Summertime," "The Real Thing," "Used To Be," and "The Other Side of Town." Still proud of them. |
