I was born in Kent, and have lived here all my life, apart from short spells in Cambridge and in Hull, where I was lucky enough to coincide with the emergence of the Watersons, and was a regular at their club at the Blue Bell. Since the early 60s I've been singing, on and off, around the clubs of Kent and Sussex. Singing unaccompanied, or with guitar or melodeon, my repertoire is mostly English traditional. I'm fond of ballads in particular, and increasingly find myself drawn to the soft, lyrical tradition of Southern England. I do also include a certain amount of contemporary material. Over the years, I been booked many clubs - most of which have now disappeared (not, I hope, as a result of my appearance there). Most recently I played at Elsie's, Cowden Pound, and at the Lewes Saturday club, with bookings at Kemsing and Seaford in the pipeline. |

A very experienced performer, Caroline is a fine guitarist with a warm engaging singing voice. Her repertoire is a mixture of traditional songs, songs that have been written in the tradition and her own much-praised compositions. She is based in Brighton. |
