Subject: Tune Req: The Duke of Grantham From: Thompson Date: 04 Jan 16 - 07:17 AM William Graves, in his autobiographical book on growing up in Deyà with his father, Robert Graves, describes his father singing a song to him to the melancholy tune of The Duke of Grantham while he was in hospital after being knocked off his bicycle by someone taking a bend on the wrong side. But what is this tune? An earlier Mudcat thread suggests it might be a song about the Duke of Grafton, but I can't find that either. |
