Subject: Clothing made from wood !!! From: GUEST,punkfolkrocker Date: 13 Nov 15 - 03:50 PM mrs punkfolkrocker has been to the shops again She's left out a new dress with all the lables and tags still attached. One caught my curiosity, prominently displaying the word 'Tencel'. Fabric made from wood... Looked and felt just like denim / cotton... no hard lumps or splinters... All my adult life, I have avoided man made fibres - cotton only for me - due to sensitive skin. [yes punkfolkrocker is a very sensitive fella - all over... 😜] But this Tencel looks very interesting...... |

Subject: RE: Clothing made from wood !!! From: Sooz Date: 14 Nov 15 - 03:37 AM As Ebor Fiddler says, rayon, now more commonly known as viscose is made from wood pulp and is still very much around. It is also used for extremely lustrous embroidery threads. |
