Subject: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: Wesley S Date: 07 Aug 15 - 08:50 AM I can't be the only one here who will miss Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. Hard to believe that he won't be around with his humor, outrage and insight during the upcoming Presidential election. But I wish him well. I hope his replacement is up to the task. Last nights sendoff was a good one with all of his "correspondents" coming back to say goodbye. And closing the show - Bruce Springsteen. It doesn't get any better than that. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: GUEST, ^*^ Date: 07 Aug 15 - 10:12 AM At least he's not dead, Wesley. He'll be back, as edgy as ever, in some new project. Or perhaps directing more films. The world is his oyster right now. What he created at Comedy Central won't go away. When Steve Allen left The Tonight Show, along came Johnny. Let's hope that is also the case here. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: GUEST,Arkie Date: 07 Aug 15 - 02:38 PM Hoping for the best, but, I for one, appreciate Jon Stewart and him commentary on the news and politics over the years. He knew there was an election coming in 2016 and I am a little surprised that he would pass up this opportunity. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: michaelr Date: 07 Aug 15 - 03:27 PM There's always an election coming... The political climate in the US is worse than it was 16 years ago, when Stewart took over The Daily Show, and the media are more fucked than ever. I don't blame him for being fed up, but I will miss his outraged humanism and incisive wit. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: GUEST,gillymorg4 Date: 07 Aug 15 - 08:33 PM Who's gonna spank Fox and expose hypocrisy? I'll miss that goofball but if the new guy is just half as good he'll be okay. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: Greg F. Date: 08 Aug 15 - 09:57 AM Who's gonna spank Fox and expose hypocrisy? Don't really matter. Anyone with a brain can see the obvious BS that Faux News puts out. The brain-dead jackholes who believe the Faux News BS will keep on believing it, since they inhabit a fact-free world of their own. |

Subject: RE: BS: Goodbye Jon Stewart From: Janie Date: 09 Aug 15 - 02:01 PM It is very likely he will continue to illuminate our world with his keen and comic eye. Just won't be on the Daily Show. He hasn't retired or died. He just moved on. I don't have a TV. Was able to watch his shows sporadically and bingefully from the Daily Show website. John Oliver is doing a bang-up job, clearly influenced by Stewart, while making his own show his own show! Colbert did the same with the Colbert Report, and will do so with his own CBS show. His unscripted piece on the final Daily Show said it all. Trevor Noah will make the show his own. It will be different. Time will tell if it will also be great. It well could be. |
