Subject: Mysterious broadside ballads website? From: GUEST,matt milton Date: 27 May 15 - 07:28 AM There's a website that I browsed quite a few times recently: a collection of broadside ballads. It was (I think) a university collection, though it might have been a museum. I can't actually remember whether it was UK or US-based. The best thing about it, which made it so enjoyable, is that you could browse ballads by theme - and the list of themes was very quirky and enjoyable. I spent many an hour Foolishly I never made a note of the name of the site, or favourited it. Bizarrely, I no longer seem to be able to find it! Does this sound familiar to anyone? I don't know whether this phantom website, whatever it was, is just out of action, or whether it is out there but has been so badly redesigned to be totally unrecognizable since I last looked. Can anyone help me? |
