Subject: RE: Tech: music software From: GUEST,IanA Date: 30 Apr 15 - 02:20 PM I have used OCR technology and have to say it is unreliable. Music has so many dots, lines and squiggles that it will always need someone with 'the knowledge' to check the results. |

Subject: RE: Tech: music software From: Les in Chorlton Date: 01 May 15 - 04:20 AM An incredible amount of folk tunes have been encoded into ABCexplorer. It is a free download and it is easy to find tunes in code, put them into ABC and hear them. It is also easy to code turns from sheet music: ABCexplorer JCs Tunefinder The Session |

Subject: RE: Tech: music software From: Mark Clark Date: 01 May 15 - 03:24 PM There is an iOS and Android app available called Notate Me that does what you ask. The free version is limited to a single staff but that is often what most of us want for folk tunes anyway. Notate Me also lets you quickly write down music on your device. It then cleans it up and lets you play it back, print it or whatever. It also imports and exports MusicXML so you can exchange scores with other apps and users. - Mark |
