Subject: BS: Possible Quilting Patterns From: Rapparee Date: 14 Apr 15 - 09:44 AM I've long thought that a pattern composed of Drunkard's Path, Trees, and Log Cabin could be called "Little Saloon In The Big Woods." Do you have any other suggestions? |

Subject: RE: BS: Possible Quilting Patterns From: Nigel Parsons Date: 14 Apr 15 - 09:58 AM If it comprises a log cabin, several drunkards paths, ending at trees, it could be titled "Little saloon, no toilet" Cheers |

And for your geekier friends, think of the attractive fringe one could add when hand-sewing on individual diodes harvested from old mother boards (or from the garage of a friend who insanely bought "lots" including pounds of loose diodes at the Radio Shack auctions back in the day). Subject: RE: BS: Possible Quilting Patterns From: akenaton Date: 14 Apr 15 - 04:17 PM Oh well, if you cant beat them join them. In Scotland in my youth all the wives made patchwork quilts from old worn blankets and small patches of colourful material. Nothing to do with fashion, just a way to keep warm before electricity, using waste materials. The smaller the patches the more admired was the quilt and workmanship. |

Subject: RE: BS: Possible Quilting Patterns From: Joe Offer Date: 14 Apr 15 - 07:25 PM I thought Drunkard's Path was one of the quilting patterns listed in the song Tree of Life by Eric Peltoniemi, but I guess not. Good song, though. Any other songs about quilting patterns? -Joe- |

Subject: RE: BS: Possible Quilting Patterns From: Ed T Date: 14 Apr 15 - 07:58 PM And, there are always poems about quilts and quilting. I recall, as a youngster, that some of the community women (including my mother) got together during winter evenings to make family quilts. I recall it to be more of a social gathering, with some good talk and stories told. Quilty poems |
