Essential Functions

•Planning, setup, execution and tear down of events requiring technical expertise in the field of sound reinforcement.
•Supervision of the Assistant Events Manager, who will interview, hire and train AV personnel, including UTA students without previous experience. Plans, coordinates and communicates their duties and schedules.
•Sound Systems and Asset Management.
•Responsible for the inventory, care and maintenance of sound systems and components and other related equipment.
•Responsible for the safe and secure storage and transportation of sound equipment.
•Prepares, communicates and documents safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
•Requisitions and maintains inventory of materials, supplies, tools and parts to meet needs of events and ongoing maintenance.
•Maintains records of work, maintenance programs and equipment.
•Works closely with Event Managers, including those at UTA Special Event Facilities, to fulfill requests for stage, audio and lighting equipment to ensure arrangement conforms to users' specifications.
•Evaluate audio system installation and suggest improvements and upgrades.
•Provides estimation of labor and equipment costs and tracks order through billing.

Required Qualifications

Two years of college with coursework in technical theater, electronic technology, communications, music, or related field. Two or more years of experience in live sound with administrative and supervisory experience. Four or more years of experience in the hands-on operation of sound reinforcement gear. Thorough training/ knowledge of sound reinforcement systems and all components. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in technical theater, electronic technology, communications, music or related field. Touring experience with a road-based show or event service provider. Four or more years of experience as audio lead for road house, or comparable event space. Negotiating, writing and executing contracts with service providing unions.
