At least, on this occasion, the police officer who passed the death penalty, carried out the execution and planted the 'evidence' has been arrested and charged. That must be a good thing?

What this one demonstrates is that without the video provided by the eyewitness, Mr. Scott would have been another man portrayed as the attacker. It suppirts the feeling of so many of us that this has been going on for a long time-- the lies by police when they kill people. More often than not, Black people.

Absolutely.
The surprise, AFAIC, is that the eyewitness was allowed to keep the piece of video and to publish it.

I think much of what's happening with police these days was seeded in the later 1970s, and it's been growing/changing since. The job of law enforcement is to bust/apprehend/warn people who are breaking the law.

In the 1970s there was a surfeit of weapons from the Vietnam War and Uncle Sam started to give them to police departments. Hell, Ka-Bars were going for $4.95 and could be bought by anyone including Girl Scouts. The military had begun to get itself into foreign policing and back home the cops were beginning to adopt a more militarized role in the American landscape. Look at old photos of cops and gradually skip ten years at a time until you get to present day. They have begun to look like soldiers instead of law enforcement officers. And they are starting to act like soldiers. Unfortunately, it's with their own citizens. The mindset has changed.

This type of thing does not happen unless police commissioners get involved with politicians. So many cops are dirty, and no one inside the police organizations dare say anything because 'you know why'. I'd prefer to see cops in schools doing PR instead of trying to shoot bad guys.

When I was a kid if a cop caught you stealing hubcaps ya got a boot in the ass. The big fear was that your parents might get informed; then ya got another boot in the ass. Debt to society paid. Today, who knows.

Deion Fludd's mother must now be doubly heart sick: her son's DOD anniversary (I believe 2013) is in just a few days, and the spring death of Mr. Gray will forever be linked for many people.

Her son committed the heinous offense of allowing his girlfriend to see his train off, and was beaten to paralysis and soon died.

Look at the parallels with the Gray death:

"She said her son told her he did flee police when the officers tried to arrest him. He ran the length of the subway platform as officers followed him and bounded onto the C line tracks, running to the platform at the next station at Ralph Avenue.

There, an officer caught him and hit him on the back of the head with a flashlight, according to Deion's account.

Deion told his mom that officers then held him down with their feet on his back as he struggled until his voice suddenly stopped working.

"They said, 'Oh, you gonna be running? We are going to make sure your ass don't run again,'" Deion recalled the officers telling him, according to Karen."
