Subject: BS: USA 'Berry' Bullying From: Ed T Date: 23 Aug 14 - 02:05 PM Canadians are crying foul over a quiet U.S.-led push to re-brand it: from the notable saskatoon berry to the lowly juneberry. Is this not just another example of USA imperialism? The Saskatoon Berry war |

Subject: RE: BS: USA 'Berry' Bullying From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 23 Aug 14 - 05:22 PM If only Americans could pronounce its name. Or spell it. Vottsameddeh with Saskatoon? Pronunciation or spelling, either one? Neither seems difficult to me. I'm a USian, and I've never laid eyes--or teeth, or tongue--on a Saskatoon, but I'd vote for (and buy, if it comes to that) the Saskatoon just as quickly as a juneberry. Probably in preference, in fact. "Juneberry" seems pretty plain-Jane, to me. Dave Oesterreich |
