Subject: BS: Narrowboat Folk Tour 28th July - 1st Aug From: GUEST,Flashmeister84 Date: 04 Jul 14 - 07:25 AM Hi folks, Just starting a thread to let people know that from 28th July to 1st of August I am running a mini-tour of folk musicians and sessions by narrowboat on the Grand Union Canal (Beds to Herts) from Linslade to Watford to raise pennies for historic narrowboats Raymond and Nutfield. We will be stopping at pubs along the way in Marsworth, Berkhamsted, Hemel Hempstead and Watford. The Marsworth date on 28th July at the Red Lion is an open folk session so please do come along and have a play. Please come and join in if you can - the more the merrier! |

Subject: RE: BS: Narrowboat Folk Tour 28th July - 1st Aug From: Mr Red Date: 04 Jul 14 - 08:20 AM Warwick FF time. otherwise I would be there somewhere to pester musos to write me a canal tune (rather than a song). On the subject ( as long as there is a back story relating thereto) of any canal as long as it is wet (er - you know what I mean). But if any do get composed on the trip (or at any other time) PM me or "contactme" or via cresby.com dropdown menus contactme This is to put behind videos of canal restoration click to see examples. TIA |

Subject: RE: BS: Narrowboat Folk Tour 28th July - 1st Aug From: Mr Red Date: 05 Jul 14 - 07:34 AM oui certainement, schottische c'est magnifique. Je danson. I already have permission to use on YouTube from M. Paris. He was at the Bal de Bath a year or so ago. But there are not many canal tunes per se (millions of songs, and river tunes). I have permissions from :Vicki Swan & John Dyer, plus a beautifull little waltz from Richrad Jones (ex Climax Blues Band, Climax Ceilidh Band, Angles, Meridian) and one or two from musos who play French dance music and live on a boat. I know of Will Pound's tune, and Nancy Kerr & James Fagan's tune (all boaters) all excelent in their own way. But I have made 12 short videos and there is footage/stills for far more. So I am looking for more, with permission to use for YouTube. TIA to those taking up the challenge. |
