Subject: Real Gone CDs From: Thomas Stern Date: 26 Jun 14 - 01:31 PM FYI REAL GONE MUSIC, a European CD producer, has issued a multitude of 4-CD boxes reissuing around 6+/- LP's per box of Folk, Blues, Rock&Roll, Jazz, pops material which is out of copyright outside the USA priced around $12 per set. Obviously not licensed, dubbed from LP's - don't know how good or bad the transfers are. They have 2 sets of Ewan MacColl (looks like from Folkways), and a 2-CD Shirley Collins. If anyone has heard any of their output, please let us know if they are listenable. According to comments on the web, annotations include NOTHING other than track list. Best wishes, Thomas. |

Subject: RE: Real Gone CDs From: GUEST,Fred McCormick Date: 26 Jun 14 - 04:27 PM Looks to me like they may be a spin off from Not Now. If they are, then they're ultra-cheapo with extremely variable sound quality. In any event, check http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=6%20classic%20ewan%20maccoll%20albums , where both sets are advertised. Set 1 has a tracklist, with no soundclips unfortunately. Looking down it, I'd say it's Topic, rather than Folkways, but I could be wrong. |
