Subject: BS: Abu Qatada: Not guilty From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 26 Jun 14 - 05:48 AM The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has honoured in spirit and to the letter its agreement with the UK and accorded Abu Qatada a fair trial. Once evidence obtained through the US-instigated torture of his alleged accomplices was withdrawn, the case against him turned out to be as thin as a British judge had long-since surmised, and he has duly been declared not guilty. He's no terrorist (The Guardian, July 2013) |

Subject: RE: BS: Abu Qatada: Not guilty From: GUEST,pete from seven stars link Date: 26 Jun 14 - 12:39 PM did I imagine it, but wasn't he filmed encouraging jihad in his London mosque ? how many other states would have tolerated such inciting, and spend so much money on "the rights" of one promoting violence......or am I mislead ?. |

Subject: RE: BS: Abu Qatada: Not guilty From: Peter K (Fionn) Date: 26 Jun 14 - 01:34 PM That's possible, pete, but I wonder if you might be thinking of Abu Hamza, a one-time imam at Finsbury Park mosque? Abu Qatada spent much of his time in the UK in prison, but without ever being prosecuted for any offence - a unique experience in modern British history. When posting earlier I had not realised that there is a further charge against him which he will face in September, and in the meantime he remains imprisoned in Jordan. |
