Subject: Suntrap : SE London gig Frid May 9 From: GUEST,The Goose Is Out! Date: 23 Apr 14 - 08:27 AM Suntrap, Friday May 9.Doors open 7.45pm, £7. Floorspots welcome. Sara Byers and Mary Wilson first met in 1996, in the tiny basement folk club at Cecil Sharpe House. They soon started to sing traditional a capella folk songs together. The following year they made their first 'demo' at Dave Pegg's Woodworm Studios and Sara asked an old band mate, Paul Hoad, if he would come and play some guitar. He enjoyed playing with them so much that he refused to leave. Since he had a very useful estate car, they let him stay. And so Suntrap was born. They have played all over the UK and Europe at major folk festivals, folk clubs and arts centres. The band have been privileged to open Cambridge Folk Festival, Skagen Folk Festival and Warwick Folk Festival. Radio features have included the Mike Harding Show and a live performance on Radio 4's Loose Ends.
