Not the usual kind of thing people look for on a folk music Website like Mudcat. Here are the links: Wikipedia says Green on Red was an American punk / psychedelic / country rock / desert rock band active 1979–1992; 2005–2006. My son has a band that was punk (now it's techno-dance) - but I couldn't understand his punk lyrics, either; except that I know that he said "fuck" a lot. Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 5 Easy Pieces by Green on Red From: Leadfingers Date: 09 Apr 14 - 10:19 PM Having been 'On The Road' with the West London Indie band 'The Price' after the compilation album of 'The Clash' songs was released , it seems that the actual LYRICS of a lot of songs didn't matter as much as the 'overall sound' , despite the fact fact that a LOT of the lyrics were very good . |

Both of my sons have written very intelligent lyrics, but people just dance to the music of my older son and don't buy the recordings of the younger one. He sounded a bit like James McMurtry. He subsequently had numerous solo albums, but I haven't heard any of them. Brother Aldo --Stewie. |
