Many years ago I had the pleasure of talking with this remarkable fellow, Tom Ferraro. I had called him to ask if his organization could handle fresh produce. Unfortunately, at the time they didn't have the ability to collect and distribute fresh food... but that didn't stop us from from discussing the issue of hunger in one the most prosperous nations in the world.

I regret that I never did get to talk with him again, and now he is gone... far to young. I do contribute to Foodlink thru our state federated appeal. This guy could have become the CEO of any major corporation, but chose instead to help his neighbors throughout western NY. The link below gives some background to this great person.
