Subject: Stompin' 76 Alumni From: GUEST,doc Date: 10 Jan 14 - 12:57 AM I really hope to hear from folks that attended Stompin' 76. It was a huge music fest in the summer of 1976 on the New River. Bonnie Rait, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, David Braumburg, just to name a few. Burl Ketchum and myself Emcee'd the entire show. Estimates of attendance, have varied over the years from 170,000 to 425,000. About 18 months ago I located the original promoter, (Hal Abramson) up around Baltimore, and shared a few memories. But nothing like those of us that were there for nearly a month, start to finish.
