Subject: Noted in passing: Maria Callas' b-day From: Don Firth Date: 02 Dec 13 - 06:38 PM I just happened to notice that the profile on the "Google Doodle" today looks familiar. It turns out that operatic diva Maria Callas was born on this day in 1923 (passed away in 1977), and Google's constantly changing logo is commemorating her birthday today. Beautiful woman, excellent actress, and one of the great operatic sopranos of all time. And you can't mistake that marvelous Greek nose! Don Firth |
