Subject: Shanty Crew - Seven Year On From: SPB-Cooperator Date: 16 Nov 13 - 08:35 AM Looking at the calendar, it occurs to me that on Tuesday (19th) it will be seven years since I left the Shanty Crew. Most of that time I haven't had much contact with the folk scene apart from discussion forums and social networking. However this year I have started playing some whistle tunes, and actually got the courage up to sing something in public! However, one thing about lack of rehearsing regularly is that my voice is rusty, and there is less thsan 1% of what was in my repertoire that I can still remember all the way through. I think for the next year I need to make more of an effort to get out and about more. I remember back in the eighties I ould be out six or seven nights a week, now it is an effort to get out six or seven nights a year! |
