Subject: RE: Pete Coe ballad forum & show Sat 16 Nov From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 01 Nov 13 - 01:38 PM Yes, I think it would be a good idea to have a second one available. You never know. By the way, Karine Polwart's 'Mariana' has just been chosen as well. |

Subject: RE: Pete Coe ballad forum & show Sat 16 Nov From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 08 Nov 13 - 10:11 AM We've decided to swap the venues - Pete's ballad workshop will be at The Royal Oak and Sue's Appalachian flatfooting workshop will be at the Elephant & Castle. The change is being made because the room in the Royal Oak is above a hairdresser's shop which is open in the day. The hairdresser is very shirty and recently complained when the landlord was Hoovering upstairs during perming and setting hours. As the couple running the Royal Oak are new, I'd rather not give them a hormonal hairdresser to cope with. Ballads won't set her off (we've had instrument workshops there earlier this year with no trouble) but the pounding feet of a dance workshop would probably send her into spasm. Ballads chosen so far are: Ballads chosen so far are: The Poor Whore's Complaint House Carpenter Geordie Lost Lady Found Bruton Town Dragon of Wantley Mariana Willie o' Winsbury Valmai (Lewes Saturday Folk Club) |
