Subject: two new ideas for soundproofing From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 19 Aug 13 - 10:02 AM The newsmagazine of my paper had an article about a couple who live in the country in a fixed-up Quonset hut. To cut the noise, they had suspended baskets and stuffed animals (toys) from the ceiling. If you share a wall with a neighbor, perhaps a collection of stuffed animals, which can be obtained cheaply at thrift stores, would absorb the noise. If you hate looking at them, you could hang a curtain over them. Baskets, especially flimsy baskets, might attenuate sound by rattling when the sound encounters them. Worth musing about, anyway. |
