Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: gnu Date: 17 Aug 13 - 03:57 PM Indeed, Don. What could be more endearing than seeing a baby animal and it's mum do what comes naturally and NOT be offended but simply say, "Awwww... that's soooo cute!" |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: JohnInKansas Date: 18 Aug 13 - 05:33 AM Recent commentaries about viral pictures of "cute" exotic wildlife have noted that publicizing them may be harmful, especially for the rarer species, since people who "want one because it's cute" may encourage the illicit/illegal pet trade and thereby deplete the population of already rare and possibly endangered species. Several examples of newly discovered species have been cited, for which the illegal public demand for "cute" has done significant harm. While it is quite natural to think "I'd like a pet like that," (yes, I would, if I could remember why) it is to be hoped that the species will be allowed to survive and flourish in its natural habitat, so that there will soon be many more thriving specimens of the kind displayed. While the protection of truly endangered life forms is critical, the enouragement of accomodation of those who merely conflict with cultural and economic pressures is also exceeding important. Let us all do our part. John |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: kendall Date: 18 Aug 13 - 07:04 AM Racoons are cute..until they grow up and tear your face off. Same with Chimps. An adult Chimp has the mind of a child and the strength of 7 men. Even dogs, Huskies are beautiful, with those blue eyes and all, but they MUST run! Try to confine them and they get psychotic. Becca had one, beautiful dog, funny and very loveable, but she would not stay in the yard which was bordered by a 9 foot fence. She would chase Deer and Horses at the local race track. I barely squeaked out of a heavy fine when the cops caught her chasing Deer. She had to go. Sad for me and heart breaking for Becca, but no choice. |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: maeve Date: 18 Aug 13 - 09:36 AM Richard Bridge- Decorative, plaited/braided/woven barcelets and anklets. I can't tell if they are Lauhala bracelets or something similar but it does look like Pandanas leaves. "Traditionally, the Luahala bracelets are made with dried strips from the leaves of the native Pandanus tree. In Ho'oponopono, the Hawaiian ritual peace and forgiveness, the Pandanus leaves, or "Hala," represent letting go of past negativity." ( http://www.ehow.com/how_8726531_make-lauhala-bracelet.html , but forget the hot glue nonsense. ) |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: JohnInKansas Date: 18 Aug 13 - 02:17 PM For RB: At the link given in the first post, there's another link (Catching up with ...) at the bottom that has the same picture without the magazine cover. Seeing the full picture by itself makes it a little clearer what accessories the mother has (and there's a cute picture of the kid in a different - yoga - pose along wth some notes/comments about them). Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: frogprince Date: 18 Aug 13 - 04:15 PM I'm not sure whether I'm smiling more because the picture is a bit odd, and a bit amusing, or because of the deeper level at which it's very natural and rather lovely. |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: GUEST,Gradely Norks Date: 20 Aug 13 - 04:57 AM Fylde Festival goers will no doubt have noticed the sign on the way into town which proudly proclaims that Fleetwood Welcomes Breast-feeding Mothers. This implies that other local towns are rather less accommodating. Bispham and Lytham St. Annes would have them stay away on account of a geriatric demographic beset by a reactionary senility that typifies middle-Lancashire and the doddering tourists thereof. It is said that a proud young mum was once scolded by an old woman on the mean streets of Cleveleys for being 'too young to be a mother'. Her reply? 'The evidence would suggest otherwise, you miserable old dried up piss-reeking prune-like hag-person.' In Lancaster itself it was reported that there was a policy mooted to recognise bottle-feeding as a form of child abuse. It was suggested that any such mistreated tot be taken immediately into the care of a specially trained officer from a team of professionally qualified wet-nurses known as The Milk Police. Whilst nothing came of it, one does get the impression that in the common-law of our County Town breast-feeding is not just welcome, but obligatory. Bottle-feeders, it would seem, are obliged to head to Proud Preston. |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 21 Aug 13 - 01:52 PM There was a case here in UK last week of a mum chucked out of a public swimming pool for breastfeeding her 4 month old baby actually in the water. She was very angry and made a scene, so the pool managers asked her to leave. There was a torrent of comments both for and against in the press and on various internet sites. Personally, I don't see why she breastfed in the water. She could easily have got out and sat on the side, or in the changing cubicles. A 4 month-old baby IMO is far too young to be in a chlorinated pool. And what if he/she regurgitated into the water? Not nice for other swimmers. I hardly dare say this, but I personally do not like to see huge pregnant abdomens sticking out in public, some even unclothed. Yuck! And I also see no reason at all for women to breastfeed in front of everybody. They can just as easily turn aside a little or go into a dedicated place in the shopping mall. None of this went on a few years ago, and believe it or not, some of us find it very distasteful. Not all 'natural functions' are for everyone to see. It's attention-seeking and showing off, a sort of deliberate provocation. Now I'd better put on my hard hat, 'cos the flak will be flying, no doubt. |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: Dave the Gnome Date: 22 Aug 13 - 05:05 AM Fylde Festival goers will no doubt have noticed the sign... Fleetwood had for many years a number of very strange signs dotted about. The ones I remember most were 'The pier is open all year round from November 1st'. Proudly displayed for at least 5 years I know of. 'These toilets are fitted with anti-climb'. Totaly boggled my mind. But the one that beat the lot, for me, was 'This is not a Ladies Toilet' proudly displayed in a glass office in the indoor market. Eeeeh. Not been for years, must go back as it sounds just as daft as ever :-) Cheers DtG |

Subject: RE: BS: Naked Breastfeeding Yoga Mom From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 22 Aug 13 - 05:50 AM LOL Dave. Here in Norfolk we have loads of daft signs and street names. We live near a Nowhere Lane, Muck lane and Swash Lane. And there's a sign saying 'Turn Right Twice' out in the sticks. Also 'Genuine PVC Jackets For Sale'. |
