Don't know why, but I would have expected somebody to comment on the summer series "Under the Dome". I missed last night's episode and will watch this evening. Have been intrigued so far, but I feel a bit cheated. Thought it was supposed to be a mini-series and expected to see it wrapped up eventually. Now I find there are 12 or 13 episodes in Season 1 and Season 2 is in the works.

I thought it might have possibilities, or really suck. We missed the chance to see the first episode. The trailers I have seen for future ones seem to imply that I won't know what's going on if I missed something, so I guess I have missed something. I never really got into shows like Lost or Twin Peaks, where I don't really know what's going on all the time. Leaving things up in the air works to an extent, but if that's all there is... I suppose I'm the wrong person to ask on this point.

The most efficient way to deal with something like that is to wait till it comes out on video, rent the first season, see if you like it. If not, you forget about it after that. If so, you wait for the second season to come out on video, and you miss all the stupid commericals that interrupt the show when it's on TV.

I have tried to watch the show, being a major Stephen King fan, but it starts late enough that I inevitably fall asleep 10 minutes in. I'm going to do as LH suggests and wait for the DVD so I can watch it all at once.

Let's get real here... "Under the Dome" is a modern soap opera designed for the 20-30 somethings...

"Jericho" (remember it) was the same thing... It didn't make it but may have opened the door for something like "Under the Dome" to...

B~

Hmm. I doubt I'd want to watch it, then.

It seems like standard operating procedure is to change the story line enough so that all of us who have read the source material still have to wonder what's going to happen next. That's what they've done with "The Walking Dead". But from what the Mrs. tells me "Game of Thrones" has stuck pretty closely to the original story lines.

I see it sometimes, always enjoy it, not really following too closely. Loved the murder-by-hearing-aid, though!

They film it in the Wilmington area. We have been watching it to see what we recognize. They shouldn't have built their dome over I40. It is an extra 10 miles to the beach now.
