Subject: It doesn't get much better! From: Dave the Gnome Date: 05 Jun 13 - 05:15 PM On Sunday I walked up to Lunds Tower and Wainmans Pinnacle (Look 'em up yourselves) at the same time as a live band was playing for the Parkas and Leathers rally. You try walking up a 1 in 6 to the beat of 'Proud Mary! Had to slow it down by mentally chanting the song of the Volga boatman ... The Parkas and Leather rally was brilliant. Wouldn't have happened in the 60's. Lambrettas and Harleys on the same car park - Sacrilege! There were some magnificent customisations though. Finally, tonight, at my local, we had an evening of dance with The Great Yorkshire Morris, Rainbow Morris and The Kitchen Taps from Otley. Fabulous evening. All this in walking distance of my front door. Am I glad I moved house? You bet! :-) Cheers DtG (Above or below the line - Up to you, mods. No, not the ones on scooters!) |

Great Yorkshire Morris - Facebook (Their web page is a bit subdued) Rainbow Morris Kitchen Taps BTW - Woke up with cramp in my leg this morning. Must have been watching all that dancing :-) Cheers DtG |

Subject: RE: It doesn't get much better! From: kendall Date: 07 Jun 13 - 07:31 AM Leg cramps? drink orange juice. The real stuff, not from concentrate. Some day I'm going to return your little torch that I somehow slipped into my bag when I was there about 10 years ago. |

Subject: RE: It doesn't get much better! From: Dave the Gnome Date: 07 Jun 13 - 07:48 AM I will give the orange juice a try, Kendall - Helps me absorb iron as well, which I need! Don't worry about the torch - I have plenty, but you would be welcome anytime. I now live just at the south-western end of the Yorkshire Dales so it is worth a visit :-) Still getting better. The local park has a shallow pool thatthey only fill when it is warm. It is filled by diverting a stream and the water is regularly tested for nasties. They filled it earlier this week and me and the grand-kids had a lovely splash about last night :-) Cheers Dave |
