Subject: BS: Changes to Flickr (Photo site) From: ragdall Date: 20 May 13 - 09:15 PM If you use Flickr, check it out. http://www.flickr.com/ They implemented big changes today. I find it so overwhelming, slow and difficult to use. I miss all the white space. Yahoo is going to make all accounts free, with advertising. After the Pro account expires, if we don't want to have ads, it will cost $50/year instead of the $25 we now pay. You can tell Flickr how you feel about the new layout here: http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157633547442506/ Go to the bottom of the page and click on the largest number. There are some ideas for finding "old layouts" in this discussion topic: http://www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157633533316333/ rags |

Subject: RE: BS: Changes to Flickr (Photo site) From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 21 May 13 - 01:58 AM I just checked a friend's page & didn't like it. It took forever to load her pics. She doesn't have very many pics so I checked our State Library which has several thousand pics - I think I'd bookmark the Sets page as it's much easier to see what's what. I don't see any ads - is that because I have an ad-blocking program? sandra |

Subject: RE: BS: Changes to Flickr (Photo site) From: ragdall Date: 21 May 13 - 04:44 AM I don't think the ads are in place yet. I don't know how we'd see them anyway amidst all that clutter. rags |

Subject: RE: BS: Changes to Flickr (Photo site) From: ragdall Date: 22 May 13 - 07:47 AM Prior to May 20, 2013, free accounts were limited to 200 small images, Gargoyle. For $25/year "pro accounts" were allowed to upload and download images in their original sizes, had unlimited uploads, no ads, and several other perks. I soon passed the 200 image limit and decided that $25/year was a small amount to pay to continue to use what was then a user friendly, photo friendly site. rags |
