Subject: BS: Unique Travel Opportunity From: JohnInKansas Date: 23 Apr 13 - 08:49 AM A novel travel opportunity appears to be shaping up that could be of particular interest to some of our regular members. Many will agree that we have several who seem inclined to bickering with just about anything posted, and who obvously are unhappy with their current situation on what appears to be, for them, an alien planet. While it's not clear what other alien world they prefer to live in, perhaps this trip would give comfort to them in being part of a whole new place. Travel plans are to be quite selective and only a small group of applicants are expected to be accepted, but a small group would permit those who don't quite fit in here to selectively encourage others like them, with whom they would be more comfortable, to join in applying along with them. (Something we all would appreciate, of course.) While the trip plans to go to only one destination, that place is considered to be quite exclusive, offering the distinct possibility that no annoyances from those "not quite as good as me" will intrude, and associating with "locals" is unlikely. We do have a few here who likely would consider these factors as being quite important, and we encourage them to apply for a booking. However, I think I would be missing the point by about 180 deg. Once anyone who disagrees with "we" is on Mars, Mudcat would be a far more civil place. Sterile, boring and smug, but at least everybody would "fit in here" with what some would like to see as their version of Mudcat. Alternatively, start your own website full of those who actually do "fit in here." Just think, you'd never have to promote censoring them. Stimulating debate would be banished and everything you read would fit in with your take on life. Why, it would be just like looking in a mirror, only words and platitudes. Good luck with it. |
