Subject: RE: BS: Prognosis - Louie Roy From: maeve Date: 24 Mar 13 - 02:19 PM Louie- I'm not much of a fan for reliance upon on-line website information for serious medical issues. However, I very much like this sentence from Web MD: "Most people with multiple myeloma will live for years after their diagnosis." Maeve |

Subject: RE: BS: Prognosis - Louie Roy From: Louie Roy Date: 24 Mar 13 - 11:35 PM I want to thank you for all the good and sincere thoughts that the mudcatter friends I've made over the past 15 years are sending me now. Each and everyone of them means a lot. Yes I have a very positive attitude and I've also have has he honor of living 88 years and 67 0f them with a womderful and beautiful lady. I still don't have the treatment schedule the VA has arranged but I will keep mudcat inforned.I.ved had a very active life and as the old saying goes I'd rather be sorry for something I've done than for something that I didn't do.Yes I'ved been dealt enough poker hands that you have to make the best of the hands you're dealt Thanks all of you Louie |

Subject: RE: BS: Prognosis - Louie Roy From: Stilly River Sage Date: 25 Mar 13 - 12:42 AM I also saw that line, and figured it would come to the surface. Clearly there is a great deal you'll be learning, but WebMD is a starting point and any of the NIH research is available online because it is publicly funded, so you can dig as much as you wish, or not. You can scare the bejeezus out of yourself if you're not careful. If there is anything you want me to look for in our university library medical databases, just PM me the search terms and I'll send you what I find. I've done that for a couple of friends who took the documents to their doctors to discuss and decide on treatments, standard or experimental. SRS |
