Subject: BS: Coloring Book Artist for Weekend... From: Bobert Date: 26 Jan 13 - 07:54 PM I'm about ready to go mad... Coloring book addict grand-daughter has been here since Thursday afternoon and her mom forgot to pack a un-colored-in-colorbook so since then I have line drawn every animal that was on the arch, Santa Claus with helpers and reindeer, doll house, a dozen suns, bugs, cars, boats and just about every other noun in the dictionary... But I ran out of nouns so what to do??? So I was looking thru my art books and came up with a color print of a Lichtenstein... You know, one of those big painting of a cartoon frame and line drew it and gave her the print... I think I'll get an hour or so peace and quiet now... Or not... B~ |

Subject: RE: BS: Coloring Book Artist for Weekend... From: JennieG Date: 27 Jan 13 - 04:55 PM There are lots of colouring pages on the interwebz, as Bill says.....if you want a particular subject, say a nice Monet picture, you put into the search window "coloring page+monet" (or whatever it is your little heart desires) and it will bring up any number of choices. You could even print out one for yourself, to have on hand for a rainy day..... Quilters (like myself) use colouring pages to get idea for applique designs, they are not just for children you know. Subject: RE: BS: Coloring Book Artist for Weekend... From: ChanteyLass Date: 27 Jan 13 - 10:03 PM Five year olds can draw! Given blank paper and crayons, she could come up with something. Of course she might have to tell you what she drew. In fact some art educators think coloring books stifle creativity even at nursery school age. next time ask her to draw a rainbow, her family, her home . . . |

Subject: RE: BS: Coloring Book Artist for Weekend... From: Bobert Date: 28 Jan 13 - 09:47 AM We did... We were using a large sketch book with spiral binding so yesterday morning I carefully pulled out all of the stuff that we did... It was about 15 pages... She also did some drawing on her own so it wasn't 100% on me... I enjoyed it... B~ |
