Subject: The 'Golden Key, Ipswich, is closing.... From: Rusty Dobro Date: 20 Jan 13 - 05:23 AM After protracted death throes, the 'Golden Key' pub in Woodbridge Road, Ipswich, is finally closing, to be replaced by yet another mini-supermarket. This means that the 'round-the-room' evening on Thursday next, 24th January, will be the last of these long-established and popular sessions. All visitors welcome as always, especially those who have added to the music here over the years. The search is on for another fortnightly venue, to be announced here, naturally, in due course. |

I think about 40 years, but I am open to correction on this. Let's hope a new venue can be found soon. Meanwhile turn up if you can! Peter |

I've always enjoyed the atmosphere at these friendly musical get-togethers. Hoping to make it along on Thursday. I've heard rumours that The Lattice Barn in Spring Road and The Selkirk are both being looked as as possible replacement venues. |
