Subject: Lyr Req: On The Kerry Kerry Coast From: tapyeno Date: 03 Jan 13 - 06:12 AM Hi I have been trying to find the lyrics for a song that my Grandmother used to sing many yerars ago at parties without any luck. It started something like this "When first i met Molly in old Erin's Isle The times they were bad out there for a while. I made up my mind.... that I should romeam And.....to buy a nice home On the Kerry Kerry Coast By the Mouth of the Shannon Thats where I long to be With the coleen who waits for me And if ever I return I'll make my home With Molly Molone and we'll have a nice home On the Kerry Kerry Coast!" Not sure if the words are correct but that's all I can remember! |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: On The Kerry Kerry Coast From: Jim Dixon Date: 03 Jan 13 - 07:52 AM The British Library has the sheet music for a song called ON THE KERRY COAST, with words and music by Harry Staunton & Harry Luck, published in London by Reeder & Walsh, 1907. The sheet music is being offered for sale by sheetmusicwarehouse.co.uk. You can see the cover if you click the link. The words to the chorus are printed on the cover: On the Kerry Kerry Coast By the mouth of the Shannon That's where I long to be, There with the colleen who waits for me. When I return again I've made a boast Molly Malone she shall have a nice home On the Kerry Kerry Coast. |
