She went to the Hellen Keller Christmas Gift Wrappin' Institute... I don't care... People do what they can... How about ya'll??? You into it or not??? No, not the drunk part... The wrappin' part... Subject: RE: BS: Wrappin' done... Let's get drunk... From: Janie Date: 24 Dec 12 - 11:14 PM I enjoy both! I especially always enjoyed getting the Santa Claus stuff assembled - first for my nephews and later, for my son. Remembering one memorable Christmas in Alabama. Up half the night putting decals on Hot Wheel garages and such while for my nephews my Dad kept the gin and tonics coming. My nephews were both young adults by the time my son came along and I always noted how much the "magic" of Christmas was rekindled in them as they helped assemble (and played with) his gifts from Santa Claus. |

Subject: RE: BS: Wrappin' done... Let's get drunk... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 25 Dec 12 - 01:35 AM I spent the evening cooking . . . my daughter was to come help cook some Puerto Rican empanadilla meat and sauce to take to her dad for my gift (I do consumable gifts when possible now). Instead, my son was over at his Dad's house while the dad and the daughter were here and we cooked. I cooked. My legs and back are tired (I was finishing the third batch of xmas cookies when they came in so I'd already been doing this for a while). I need to go wrap gifts now that I've cleared up the kitchen and put up our holiday basket (in a macrame hanger with lights running up and down the knotted twine). Confused? Don't worry. It was a fun, but odd evening. Usually they do dinner on their own before exchanging gifts over there, but they didn't get their take-out food orders in on time in local restaurants so I cooked a favorite they took back for our son. After their evening with their dad, the kids come back here and we do breakfast and gifts in the morning. That's what I'm working on now, wrapping those gifts. Better thaw some bacon for breakfast. The turkey for dinner tomorrow is in the brine in a little fridge, and a dozen people will be here for dinner. I'd better make good use of my time before the kids come in. Not drunk, but I think another jigger of single malt scotch and a small ice cube would be in order. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Wrappin' done... Let's get drunk... From: jacqui.c Date: 25 Dec 12 - 04:15 AM I like wrapping presents and the challenge of making a neat package of a non regular shape. There's also the anticipation of how gifts will be received. My grandson wrapped presents for his parents yesterday, insisting on doing it all on his own, Not as pretty as it could be but appreciating by his parents for the fact that he made the effort. |

Subject: RE: BS: Wrappin' done... Let's get drunk... From: GUEST,Eliza Date: 25 Dec 12 - 07:50 AM Have now unwrapped the lot. (Husband carefully undoes the paper and the ribbons, folds and puts to one side meticulously, totally maddening, but very thrifty!) We got some super things, but I'm wondering if I smell or something - loads of soap and shower gel, deodorants and perfume. |

From: Bobert Date: 25 Dec 12 - 10:30 AM Well, the wrappin' work has become a small pile of of torn paper and ribbons on the livin' room but it was, all in all, a pretty successful year of wrapping...
