Subject: BS: Anti-Nebraska Party To Steal Election!! From: Rapparee Date: 03 Nov 12 - 09:59 AM Just as they have tried in years past, Salmon P. Chase and the rest of his Party want to undercut Democracy and States Rights by stealing Tuesday's election. There is clear and definitive proof that the storm that disrupted so much of the US Northeast rolled over the South, Nebraska, Kansas, and Missouri in an attempt to disrupt voting. You have been warned; vote for Freedom! |

Subject: RE: BS: Anti-Nebraska Party To Steal Election!! From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 12 - 03:38 PM What the heck??? You had me puzzled, Rap, so I went and read Wickipedia's article about Salmon P. Chase. Interesting stuff. He's apparently the man whom we can thank (?) for the introduction of paper currency in the USA. I gather that gold and silver coins were used prior to that. Chase served as Secretary of the Treasury in President Lincoln's cabinet from 1861 to 1864, during the Civil War. In that period of crisis, there were two great changes in American financial policy, the establishment of a national banking system and the issue of paper currency. The former was Chase's own particular measure. He suggested the idea, worked out the important principles and many of the details, and induced the Congress to approve them. It not only secured an immediate market for government bonds, but also provided a permanent uniform, stable national currency. Chase ensured that the Union could sell debt to pay for the war effort. He worked with Jay Cooke & Company to successfully manage the sale of $500 million in government war bonds (known as 5/20s) in 1862.[9] Obverse of the first $1 bill issued in 1862 as a legal tender note featuring Chase The first U.S. federal currency, the greenback demand note, was printed in 1861–1862, during Chase's tenure as Secretary of the Treasury. These greenbacks formed the basis for today's paper currency. It was Chase's responsibility to design the notes. In an effort to further his political career, his face appeared on a variety of U.S. paper currency, starting with the $1 bill so that the people would recognize him. Sounds to me like that was the point at which the government began creating "money out of nothing"...a practice which has resulted in the worldwide financial crisis that is facing us today. Paper currency is a lot like counterfeiter's money. You can make any amount of it at very little cost, and people pretend it's worth something. As long as the people all agree to that pretense, the system holds up and keeps functioning. But what about those who actually manage the creation of the paper bills? They stand to become fabulously wealthy... |

Subject: RE: BS: Anti-Nebraska Party To Steal Election!! From: Little Hawk Date: 03 Nov 12 - 05:44 PM This sentence really stood out to me in the article about Secretary of the Treasury Chase: "Chase ensured that the Union could sell debt to pay for the war effort." Debt. Money created in the form of debt. That's how the Union raised sufficient funds to fight the Civil War, and that's what has been done ever since through the central banking system. Who pays off that debt? The public! It is paid off through taxes and inflation, and it never all gets paid off, but keeps on piling up. It has now piled up so high that it's impossible to ever pay it off. The only way to deal with a debt so large that it can't be paid off is to pardon the debt and wipe the books clean...or declare bankruptcy and start over. Now, why are we talking about Nebraska? ;-) |

"The only way to deal with a debt so large that it can't be paid off is to pardon the debt and wipe the books clean...or declare bankruptcy and start over." This is meant to be a FUN thread but you have chosen to post otherwise, so, just this time, I'll tell you this... The "only way" you speak of is not gonna happen and it's not "the only way". The other way is war. Yer a history buff, right? So, lock and load. |
