Subject: BS: Billybob's Silver Wedding From: billybob Date: 29 Oct 12 - 07:23 AM Billy and I are celebrating our Silver Wedding on Wednesday 31st October! We had a fabulous party on Saturday with 50 family and close friends.The party was planned for months but could have been cancelled at the last minute depending on Billy's health but the good news , we were able to go ahead! We booked the folkband " Kegs" with old friend Stuart Moffat and I recommend them.We both wanted a party that was enjoyable to all ages and all musical tastes and Kegs were brilliant! the yougest children were aged 3 and the oldest person 89! So how to get everyone up to dance? Ask the children to choose a grownup as a dance partner it worked brilliantly. We started with a very English tea at 4 pm with scones, clotted cream and jam, finger sandwiches and many cakes! Then in the evening a hot chilli supper, champagne flowed and the whole day went off just as we wanted. Wednesday we will have a quiet lunch together somewhere Billy has planned and then come home to open the presents we were given on Saturday, thanks to all our family and friends who have been so generous and made it a day to remember. Like everyone we have had some difficalt times but also mostly very happy good times, we have wonderful children who, as Christopher said in his speech at the party,were consulted and chose Billy for me!! Billy has been the best step father to Samantha and Christopher because he has always been their friend.To our granchildren he is "Grandad Billybob" and they adore him. We are going to celebrate with lunch and then a visit to the newly opened Theatre where Christopher is the manager. Wendy |
