Subject: RE: BS: Coincidences From: Ed T Date: 19 Oct 12 - 07:43 PM When in my mid 20's I drove from east coast Canada to Vancouver British Columbia, about 3,800 miles (or about 6,100 km). I apent my first night in Vancouver at a youth hostel near Jericho Beach. Just before sleeping, a conversion broke out between me and the guy in the next sleeping bunk. He was from Switzerland and had spent the previous six months hitchhiking throughout Canada. I asked him where the best place he visited had been. He named a small community five miles from where I was born and lived most of my life. It seems a farmer had picked him up and he stayed on the farm for two weeks, enjoying farm life and sharing time with a farm family. I was puzzled by this coincidence. |

Subject: RE: BS: Coincidences From: Beer Date: 20 Oct 12 - 12:03 AM I know that I talked about this in some other thread but I'll be damn if I can find it. The very short of it goes like this. Brother in law(Danny) does work for this fellow(Norm) in Ottawa and offers his condolences at the passing of his father. He finds out about 5 years later(Danny was an adopted child.) that the fellow he worked for was his brother. And his father that he never met was living just a few miles from him. Adrien |

Subject: RE: BS: Coincidences From: beeliner Date: 21 Oct 12 - 02:08 AM These have always been my favorites: Morse code for the letter "V" is ..._ (didididah). Beethoven's FIFTH (V) symphony begins etc. The first three men on earth, according to Genesis: A dam A bel C ain. The first three men on the moon: A rmstrong A ldrin C ollins. Most fire trucks are RED. Russian Communists are RED. Fire trucks are always 'rushin'. Comedian Gary Owens made a recording of similarities between Lincoln and Nixon, a parody of the similarities between Lincoln and Kennedy mentioned in a link above. My favorite: Mrs. Nixon liked bananas. Mrs. Lincoln WENT bananas. |
