Subject: Sunnycamp 2012 From: mg Date: 26 Aug 12 - 02:43 AM It will be at the same place..Camp Morehead..Nahcotta WA on Long Beach Peninsula, across river from Astoria OR. Cost $55, CAN BE prorated. Date is October 19-21, Friday about 3 pmj to Sunday about 3 p.m. Very rustic camp with not great accomodation and lots of mold, but pretty scenery. Not possible to please every musical preference in the evening song circles, so preference will be no book except for personal use, probably no going around in circles all night..might have one round and those who prefer that style will have the option of going to one of the cabins. One main lodge and no other good singing place..daytime will be OK but night is a problem. Shared kitchen duties. Food is camp style but usually pretty good and can be plain or fancy depending on whims of the cooks. We try to have a nice salmon dinner on Sat. We have had very nice music in the past. Great place for biking and hiking but not boating due to dangerous water. Will post more later. General PNW USA format..late night song cirlces, workshops during the day. Emphasis will be on lovely group singing without books..or, do I need to say it, electronic devices. use them for yhourself but not as a group thing.. |

Subject: SUNNYCAMP Oct 19-21 2012 WA USA From: GUEST,mg Date: 07 Oct 12 - 10:16 PM Well, there should be a previous thread but darned if I can find it, per usual. Anyway, Sunnycamp in only 2 weeks. It has been very poorly advertised this year, due to me being away so many weekends and an interesting real estate situation. But it is on. It will be a small group I think...although they are notorious for registering at the last minute. There might be 2 rides from Olympia and one or two still from Seattle. It is in Nahcotta WA on the long Beach Peninsula near Oysterville. I have to say it again because people get confused. IT IS NOWHERE NEAR OCEAN SHORES. IT IS NEAR OCEAN PARK, which confuses people. IF YOU GET TO ABERDEEN STOP RIGHT THERE AND ORIENT YOURSELF TO THE VERY SOUTHERN PART OF WILLAPA BAY.. $55 FOR THe weekend, includes food, a cot in a cabin. There is a motel next door (Harbor View) for those who are sensitive to mold, because there is mold everywhere here. I think that our apple pie maker and our fish cooker and our breakfast chef are all coming..oh yes..we will have music too.... Beautiful scenery, right on Willapa Bay in oystering area. Will probably coincide with cranberry harvest. Great area for hiking, biking, birding, photography. Boating from camp not permitted..it is quite dangerous but there are lakes in the area. You can email me at maryogarvey@yahoo.com or call 360-642-8049 up to 11 p.m. PST. Open around 3 p.m. on Friday till around 3 p.m. on Sunday. Best to drive during daylight if you are new to the area...can be a bit confusing because you are driving around a bay basically...mg |

Cost is $55 for weekend, can be prorated. Or let me know if financial hardships. PM me or call 360-642-8049 or just show up. Camp MOrehead in Nahcotta WA just south of Oysterville..North of Long Beach and Seaview. On Sandridge Road just past 275th and Port of Peninsula. Simple cabins, rustic lodge. Hopeuflly nice salmon dinner on Sat. |

But I can't leave Seattle until about noon on Saturday and it will be at least 5 or 6 PM before I can get to Sunnycamp. Please let me know if you think it's worth trying to get there late in the day on Saturday. I will consider it. Genie |

Subject: RE: Sunnycamp Oct 19-21 2012 Washington USA From: mg Date: 17 Oct 12 - 08:48 PM Yes..please do come..it is after all somewhere between Seattle and Portland..Amergin..please come too. It is going to be a smaller than usual group this year but some great singers and some great songwriters I believe..hopefully some locals will show up like they did last year...costs will be proroated depending on how much tijme y9u are there, how many meals etc.....I intend to have a great time with some of the most friendly people around...the camp lends itself quite well to smaller groups...it means we don't have to sleep t hree to a bed etc... |

Subject: RE: Sunnycamp Oct 19-21 2012 Washington USA From: Genie Date: 18 Oct 12 - 01:30 AM I wish I could be there, but with my work schedule I wouldn't be able to get there before about dinner time Saturday (and it would indirectly cost me an extra $30 to $60 too). But I know those of you who can go will have a great time. I'll make a point of being there next year if I can. Genie |

Subject: RE: Sunnycamp Oct 19-21 2012 Washington USA From: GUEST,mg Date: 18 Oct 12 - 06:37 PM Well, it starts tomorrow...should be fun.... I think the salmon dinner might not include salmon this year as I was unable to get any..my dealer fell through but I am still looking around.... Just come if you can't get hold of me. Nahcotta WA..just one house north of the Port of Peninsula...DO NOT GO TO OCEAN SHORES. It is near Ocean Park which confuses people. DO NOT GO TO ABERDEEN. STOP IF YOU END UP IN ABERDEEN. You will have to turn back and head toward Raymond. |

Subject: RE: Sunnycamp Oct 19-21 2012 Washington USA From: Genie Date: 19 Oct 12 - 01:17 PM If anyone would like to ride from Seattle to Sunnycamp on Saturday afternoon (leaving about 11:30A or noon-ish), let me know. I'm considering going to Long Beach on Sat. But I need to go back to Portland early Sunday afternoon, so if you ride to Sunnycamp with me, you'll need to catch a ride back to Seattle with Fred or someone else from the area. Genie |

Subject: RE: Sunnycamp Oct 19-21 2012 Washington USA From: GUEST,mg Date: 19 Oct 12 - 03:05 PM Well, I am heading out shortly. Weather is OK..just overcast..will have showers...beautiful when it rains here though as long as wind does not get bad and it shouldn't. I am looking forward to some really great songwriters especially meeting each other perhaps for the first time if they all show up. I am also looking forward to lots of conversation..since it will be a small camp we won't be racing from place to place and will have time I hope to just sit still..hopefully someone will feel like cooking...no salmon at this point..looks like chicken but we will paint it orange. Just show up and if money is a problem show up anyway. mg |
