Subject: Cat's Calling Academy at Oxfolk From: Jane Bird Date: 22 Sep 12 - 05:20 AM If you're interested in having a go a calling dances at ceilidhs, or you're already a caller but would like to spend a couple of days developing your technique, you might be interested to hear about a couple of Calling Workshops at Oxfolk, held in Kennington Village Hall just outside Oxford. There's also a chance for some of those who attend these workshops to be chosen to be mentored to prepare for calling at an Oxfolk ceilidh this season. The workshops run as follows: Saturday 13th October 10am – 5.30pm Guests: Barry Goodman, Simon Care and Cate Bannister (Followed by an evening ceilidh with The Diatonics and featuring Calling Academy guest caller Lizzy Harrall) Saturday 12th January 10am – 5.30pm Guests: Nick Walden, Saul Rose and Mike Courthold (Followed by an evening ceilidh with Haddo Guest caller to be announced) For more details please go to http://www.oxfolk.org.uk/cats-calling-academy.html Cheers, Jane |
