Peter, Stim & GUEST appear to have cracked it. They are the chords for the verse ending bars. However I have been doing a bit of research myself and have found this link that confirms this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRqU-CEN-D4 It also shows that John was using some form of D tuning not standard tuning. ?? I always though that this was one of John's own compositions but note from Guest's excellent link that it was written by Steve Gillette and Tom Campbell. He used it a lot, even on his 12-string - Annie's Song, for example . The video is a bit fuzzy, but eventually you get a reasonably good shot of the bass run. |
