Subject: BS: The biggest conspiracy From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 14 Sep 12 - 12:53 PM All the British media is agreed this week in recognising that "the biggest conspiracy in recent British history" has now been exposed, with the independent report on the Hillsborough disaster. Here is the full report - Hillsborough - The Report of the Hillsborough Independent Panel. A record of catastrophic incompetance and sustained lying and smears by police and others over 23 years. Maybe it is time we stopped using the term "conspiracy theory" as a way of dismissing accusations of deception organised by those whom we are told to trust. Conspiracies do happen, even organised and sustained conspiracies involving large numbers of people at times. It's true enough that such accusations, are wrong even ludicrous, but that's not because they are conspiracy theories, or because the people accused should ever be seen as beyond suspicion. |

Subject: RE: BS: The biggest conspiracy From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 14 Sep 12 - 03:35 PM Pushed the wrong button there... The way the police, with encouragement from on high lied and smeared the victims for years on end was disgusting. And frightening. Though some sympathy goes out for those frontline police who in their testimony had tried to tell the truth, but been bullied into going along with their testimony being censored and perverted by their superiors. After living with the guilt all these years, now they have to face the shame of being exposed, and the revulsion of those among whom they live. |

Subject: RE: BS: The biggest conspiracy From: Bill D Date: 14 Sep 12 - 05:15 PM I remember videos of that horrible scene on TV. I do know that it is FAR too common for those who share some 'sins of omission OR commission' to find some way of hiding or distorting their guilt. And those in positions of power have more opportunity and ability to cover up carelessness or outright involvement. It's a REAL shame that it takes so long for clear answers to be forthcoming! |

Subject: RE: BS: The biggest conspiracy From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 15 Sep 12 - 02:28 PM And the lies went right to the very top - the day after the disaster Margaret Thatcher went ground the ground, and readily accepted it when she was told by the Chief Constable that it was all down to "a tanked up mob". The smear had full backing from Downing Street. |
