Subject: BS: The Homecoming Parade From: Amergin Date: 06 Sep 12 - 01:31 AM On 7 August, Specialist Ethan Martin, a kid from my home town, was killed in Afghanistan. On 17 August, they brought him home. He was 22 years old. People lined the 35 mile stretch of highway between Sandpoint and Bonners Ferry to honour him. i wasn't there to witness it...but I have several friends and relatives who were. There is a site that lists all the slain of both wars, but his is the only one that I can find that shows these photos of such an amazing event. Ethan J Martin This is my interpretation of that day...of course because I live in Portland, Oregon, I could not be there. The Homecoming Parade I have a reading gig on the 11th...and it will only be fitting for me to read this poem. |
