Subject: BS: Help find book - scifi, mindcontrol cats From: Mrrzy Date: 28 Aug 12 - 12:41 PM OK, I read it in the 1970's, so it was likely written in the 50's or 60's, maybe Silverberg or Sturgeon or someone like that... Alien lands in Anytown, USA, looks kinda like a turtle but can take over the mind of a mammal while it (the mammal)'s asleep, but then it has control of it till it (the mammal) dies. I'm not sure what it's trying to do, I think kind of climb up the food chain to the scientists, but it discovers that taking over CATS is the best way to spy, they go everywhere and are easy to kill when you need to leave them. Some teenagers figure out (in a this-could-happen-to-you way) what's going on and try to never sleep... Anybody? Help? Thanks! |
