Subject: Frank Hamilton From: GUEST,Mary Katherine, sans cookie Date: 24 Jul 12 - 02:21 PM Frank's wife Mary just posted this health update on Frank's Facebook page: Frank is checked in at St. Joe's Hospital; after further test he is scheduled to undergo an operation to repair two clogged sections of the main coronary artery. Dr J Miller will perform the operation around 9 in the morning. The recuperation period is expected to be 5 days to one week with another 4-6 weeks to more fully recover through restricted activity. He is remarkably resigned to having operation, grateful for such wonderful help & the love of so many friends. We will be in touch with you with updates after the operation, period of time in ICU and when we he is transferred to his hospital room(do not know the # yet). Love, Mary H. For those who do not know, Frank is a folksinger and guitarist, a founder of the Old Town School of Folk music in Chicago, and was a member of the Weavers for a time. |

Subject: RE: Frank Hamilton-health issues, July 2012 From: Midchuck Date: 24 Jul 12 - 04:00 PM Piece of cake. I had a triple in January and I just walked two miles on trails with some steep uphills, in 45 minutes, and didn't notice any strain. BUT HE'S GOTTA DO THE REHAB AND STICK WITH IT ALL 12 WEEKS! You come out of it feeling 20 years older, and the rehab takes you back to your actual age. Sometimes a little younger. Just my personal take, but based on experience. Peter. |
