What a lovely way to spend some time, jimmyt! I hope you find a beautiful field/batch/es to photograph. Have fun!

Court Wood ME3 7DZ - Higham . Park on the verge opposite Higham Garage on the A226. Go through the entrance used by the dogwalkers into the woods. Follow the path in. GO left at the first fork and up the hill. At the next junction turn right-ish down the hill and bear left at the bottom. Follow the path - you are very roughly parallelling Pear Tree Lane. You should finish up in the south west corner of the woods. Under the tree canopy you should find a carpet of blue. Not huge, but quite a nice shaded setting. You will technically be trespassing as the path is not a public right of way but all the local dogwalkers use it. It is however 10 years since I've been there.

Or you could try the more famous Bluebell Hill, near Maidstone.

The ideal place is the Bluebell Line railway - called because of the bluebell woods it passes on its journey from Sheffield Park to Kingscote.

West Sussex this one, but not too far away...

Find Herontye Drive East Grinstead.
There is a sign-posted walk southward towards Forest Row Village (used to be a railway).
About a mile down the track is a field full of bluebells. They should be close to their best at this time.

If you do venture into deepest West Sussex and get to Henfield, you'll see this:

Bluebells

Probably too far away, but PM me for an exact reference if you get the urge to go.

In the woods that lie between the top of Rowdow hill and "The Rising Sun", Kemsing.

The woods between Sevenoaks and Bitchet Green always put on a fabulous display. In Google maps look for Saint Lawrence Cricket Club Ground.

The excellent John From Kemsing beat me to it: Kemsing hills are hard to beat. Either turn down the lane on the right at the top of Rowdow, or park at the top of Childsbridge Lane where it meets the Pilgrims Way and walk up. Keep a look-out for the ghost of me, 50 years ago!

You were certainly a substantial sort of ghost in Suffolk on Monday... :-)

Funny, I thought I had posted about the A 227 between Shipbourne (shibburn) and Tonbridge.
