Festival patron and well known entertainer Alan Shortt will emcee the festivities. Once guests have had a chance to enjoy refreshment provided by the Woodford Bar, the entertainment will open with Bee-Laude Glade. This group of musicians, formed in Dublin, performs poems to jazz accompaniment. On 12 April guests will hear contemporary and classic Irish poetry performed with verve and set to lively music. Music will stretch into the night with Anita Williams and Rouge, a well-known Cork-based jazz quintet. Passionate about the tradition they focus on lyrical and melodic strengths and are influenced by classical and contemporary artists such as Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Tom Waits and Randy Newman. paddy_cole This event was organised in anticipation of yet another year in which this boutique festival in rural West Cork pulls off a jazz festival that can rival any other in Ireland.
