Subject: early music - Austin - weeklong From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 30 Mar 12 - 09:13 AM My year is firmly anchored. I've signed up again for the Texas Toot, which is a week-long workshop in Austin, Texas. We have fine, professional teachers, good food, and a beautiful campus. There are classes ranging from beginner to advanced for many kinds of early instruments - recorder, viol, lute, sackbut, etc. And harp. This year the Flanders Recorder Quartet recurs as the Cute-Europeans-in-Residence. In addition to the spiritual refreshment of the things we do, there is the spiritual refreshment of the things we don't do - no cooking, no litter box, no weeding, no laundry, no clients... I recommend it all highly. See toot.org |

Subject: RE: early music - Austin - weeklong From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 23 Apr 12 - 09:40 AM The class schedule is set, and there's still time to sign up. I should add that the food is really good. It's a wonderful vacation. |

Subject: RE: early music - Austin - weeklong From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 15 May 12 - 09:15 AM Southwest Airlines goes there directly. There's probably still time to get a cheap fare. Going to workshops like this has improved my self-taught woodwind playing immeasurably. And did I mention that the campus is beautiful? |
