Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: Bainbo Date: 08 Jan 12 - 12:08 PM It would seem to be a cheap shot to ridicule their spelling rather than their beliefs ... ... were it not for the fact that most of them are calling for America to speak English! |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: Pete Jennings Date: 08 Jan 12 - 01:00 PM ...at least they recognise that they don't! |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: EBarnacle Date: 08 Jan 12 - 01:32 PM Gee, I wonder whether they would have come out if Hillary had become president. If so, what would their issues have been--objection to a brainy female lawyer who has also read the constitution, perhaps? |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: GUEST,josepp Date: 08 Jan 12 - 01:56 PM FYI, that's "consitution." And they seem to have the most difficulty with "amnesty." It was never misspelled the same way twice. |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: katlaughing Date: 08 Jan 12 - 02:23 PM They would have ridiculed Hillary for not being a stay-at-home mom and accuse her of hysterics if she got tetchy during a crisis or anything else...they'd probably also drag out the PMS bullshit. |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: gnu Date: 08 Jan 12 - 04:03 PM Well, now... think about that for a minute. The ruling class provides such POOR education to the general pubic (yeah) that the masses can't spell properly (?). Now, granted, some are lysdexic but, overall, I believe the poor quality of education provided in North America is a contrived assault on the poor by the rich. Conspiracy theory? Maybe, but I have held this theory for over 30 years and I think it holds water. All I have to do is walk up the street and I meet people with no manners, no common political will, no sense of brotherhood, no sense of their surroundings, no... ya know, eh? Such "satire" or "exposure" of the few is sad but it is somewhat true and that makes me sad. I'll clue this up in two words... Raygun? Bush? Sarah? Mitt. Mulroney? Harper? Oops... I got carried away. Too sad innit? |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: GUEST,josepp Date: 08 Jan 12 - 04:10 PM These are people I guarantee do not have a book in their house other than a King James Bible which they never read much less understand. Nor are they poor. They could be richer if they were smarter but they are not poor--yet. And it's their own fault. The books are out there. All you have to do is read them but you are asking too much. I meet a lot of people who tell me they don't have time to read after they got married and I have to believe it's true. So, if you're Mr. and Mrs. Family Values, you have no time to read, no desire to read. That was your choice to make. It's no one's responsibility but yours. |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: katlaughing Date: 08 Jan 12 - 05:48 PM Can we say "generalisation?" |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: Big Al Whittle Date: 08 Jan 12 - 06:08 PM a laugh......bloody terrifying! |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: jacqui.c Date: 09 Jan 12 - 09:31 AM The Romans used bread and circuses. Nowadays it seems to be football and reality shows. |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 09 Jan 12 - 10:10 AM Actually, I suspect a lot of the misspellings are emotionally based. It's not that they don't know how the words are spelled, but that they've allowed emotion to override intellect. Get someone sufficiently pissed off, hand him a piece of poster board and an El Marko, and he's apt to misspell his own name. |
Subject: RE: BS: Need a good laugh this morning? From: GUEST,josepp Date: 09 Jan 12 - 12:17 PM I'm going to disagree. If I'm going to carry a sign in public, I would make damn sure it's been properly proofread. It's lack of intellect. Who else would carry a sign saying yes to medicare and no to socialized medicine? Back during the townhall riots, a bunch of them were shouting, "We're here to tell the government to keep its hands off our medicare!!" I burst out laughing at the unintended humor. |
